Coach Kurt Will be traveling to the country of
Curacao in the Netherlands Antilles to offer one of his world
famous swim clinics next week (Sept 30 - Oct 11th). During
this time practices will be run by Rebecca Duncan.
Next month's clinic builds on the success of Coach Kurt's
weekend clinic back in April for college swimmers from six
countries in which every participant showed significant, measured
improvement after only two days. Locals that watched the clinic
were so impressed that they canceled an Olympic swimmer and a
another clinic to hire Coach Kurt.
The Curacao clinic was opened to all teams in Curacao and reached
capacity on the day first day that it was offered. Although
unconfirmed, rumor has it that there will even be two Olympic level
swimmers at this clinic. Given the success, Coach Kurt added an
additional coach Jesus Salcedo to assist him and expanded the
number of spots in this one week clinic.
This clinic is going to be very big, featuring science
demonstrations in the class room, under water video analysis, in
pool demonstrations, lectures and drill progressions. Our normal
improvement on a weekend clinic is around 11%, so we are excited to
see what we can accomplish given a full week of working with the
swimmers.
Anyone still wanting to travel with Coach Kurt who has not yet
signed up should do so as soon as possible to ensure you can get a
passport before travel. Hotel accommodations have been arranged for
the clinic at the Marriott Curacao hotel with a special rate of
only $99 / night (regularly $186 / night). The clinic is free to
any LBD swimmers traveling with Coach Kurt - the cost on the island
is $200 / person USD.
